Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬‬‬
Before Charles and I were married it was God's call and our desire to serve Him. A couple verses that God used in my life the first year of marriage to Charles were Isaiah 1:19-20 and Romans 15:6.
“If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land. But if you refuse and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword.” For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” ‭‭
Isaiah‬ ‭1:19-20‬ ‭CSB‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬   (https://bible.com/bible/1713/isa.1.19-20.CSB )
“Now may the God who gives endurance and encouragement grant you to live in harmony with one another, according to Christ Jesus, so that you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ with one mind and one voice.” ‭‭
Romans‬ ‭15:5-6‬ ‭CSB‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬   (https://bible.com/bible/1713/rom.15.5-6.CSB )
For the first few years of our marriage Charles was busy working and then mentoring/discipling young men. At one time there were young couples in 6 continents of the world as missionaries.
After 7 years of marriage and 3 young children God moved in our hearts to serve Him outside the USA. As we searched to know His will, He led us to Taiwan where we began to study Chinese and he began to work with several pastors. We enjoyed teaching Bible studies and sharing Jesus. He was strong in discipleship and began to work with the churches in this area. He was also director of the church education training center for a period of time and discipleship director. Some of the young men he trained in the China Medical are now doctors serving the Lord.
We worked with university students in several universities. God was blessing us with ministry. Our children had grown up among Chinese and enjoyed the culture. They had gone to the university in USA and graduated. We were in the States for a year and fully expecting to return when the Lord redirected us. Our board asked us to pray about going to Russia because it had just opened to allow missionaries in. We served in Novosibirsk for 10 years and after that a special project in Czech Republic. Our children and later their families were totally supportive of our moves and ministries.
You may use this in any way you desire. We served the Lord our 50 years of marriage and spent 30 years in other countries.
