( 2Cor.9:15)

Rev. Sek Iong Lim,

Dear Friends,

We are so grateful for your generous gift at Christmas. It's been a wonderous month of preparing for two concerts and our family gathering Dec. 14th. at our condo party room with two daughters and their families. Our eldest daughter, Heather Cooper, and family had to return home part way as the roads became too dangerous. So today our granddaughter came with their year-old son, Evan (our first great grandson) to make up for the gathering they missed two weeks earlier.

The pictures are of Jack and I and one with daughters Deb Schlichter and Maria Milne. Jack has been in long-term care for more than two years now. He doesn't say much, but he often says my name. I see him daily to feed him his supper and then clean his teeth which are supported with implants. The caregivers are not familiar with these teeth and are afraid to take on this responsibility.

I am very thankful that Jack is physically healthy and sleeps and eats well and seems quite content. I keep busy with life at Knox Presbyterian Church in Waterloo. Deb and I sing in the choir and her daughter, Tamara joined the Christmas choir for Lessons and Carols. I also attend a Wednesday noon program for seniors that is reaching beyond Knox congregation. Then on Thursdays I teach grade six in our Logos program that involves about eighty youth and forty adults from 4:30 - 7:30pm and then choir practice till 9:00pm.

The other choir I sing with is the NoteWorthy Singers of about eighty seniors which is led by our Knox choir director, Terry English. We sing in nursing homes about twice a month.

I appreciate the update on Taiwan and former colleagues and certainly do pray for peace and prosperity for our adopted country. Our son, David and Chia-Chi, and sons Alex and Nicholas live in Taipei and I Skype with them once a week to keep informed.

We grew up celebrating twelve days of Christmas so wishing you and friends much joy, in sharing His light and love in this world.

Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift. 2Cor.9:15

Sincerely,

Betty Geddes (Flora M. Geddes)
