親愛的林先生，平安，

感謝你慷慨的禮物和聖誕信，告訴了我們關於台灣的局勢。雖然我們在1966年離開台灣，我們仍然很懷念在台灣事奉的時光。我們還常常用台灣話彼此對話，因為有時用台灣話比英語容易表達我們想說的話。

附上一封我們最近寄給海外朋友的聖誕信。並附上兩張相片，你會發現這兩張有很大的差異。

台灣的教會和信徒，總是在我們的祈禱和思念中。請代我們祝福所有台灣的基督徒。

Dear Lim sian-si,  Peng-an,

I am writing to thank you for your most generous gift which we received recently. Also for your news letter telling us about the situation in Taiwan. Although we left Taiwan in 1966 we still think about our time there every day of our lives. We often speak to each other in Taiwanese and there are many Taiwanese words which we use because they express what we want to say better than English words.

I enclose our most recent Christmas letter which we have sent to our overseas friends. You will notice a great difference between the photograph at the top of this letter and the one at the top of the Christmas letter.

The people and the congregations of our churches in Taiwan are always in our thoughts and prayers. Please give all our fellow Christians our good wishes.
